LOCAL CONTENT AND COMMUNITY EMPOWERMENT: As a local Nigerian company, Eurowells is aware of the enormous pressure faced by Oil majors both from government, including the National Assembly, business men, people from the Niger Delta and other Nigerians; and the increasing importance of issues surrounding Local Content and Community Empowerment. In fact our company is a product of that need… to see Nigerians actively involved in more and more critical aspects of oil exploration and production. We therefore have created a unit to deal exclusively with these issues, especially as it relates to community empowerment. As a matter of overriding policy, we shall deliberately focus on growing local businesses, through sub-contracts, early processing and payment of local suppliers’ invoices, placing our competencies at the disposal of local folks and generally helping them succeed. We shall hire and train fellow Nigerian employees, and work with our clients to build and maintain legitimate relationship with communities where we find ourselves. But as a fellow Nigerian, our company shall NOT succumb to blackmail and extortionist tendencies of vested interests in and among the communities.
